Outstanding Competition Cards

Some clubs who entered the Rosebowl and Bennie Cup competitions have not returned their cards to the match secretary. If you have not returned your cards, can you please do so urgently or your games will be deemed as void.

National Championships 2018

Thanks to all those who visited our stand at Northfield during the National Championships. Our aim was to spread the word about the SBF and obtain details of those clubs who are interested in working with us to promote the work of the Fellowship, particularly in the East of Scotland.

If you are a member of Edinburgh or Lothians Bowling Associations and are interested in promoting the game and work of the Fellowship, please contact us via email (see footer) . We can then arrange a visit to discuss how we can work together.

Matches and Competitions 2018

The SBF organises friendly matches with clubs accross Scotland. If you would like to play in these matches, please refer to the Guidance Page under the Matches tab.

We also run fours competitions for Ladies and Gents and are now inviting applications to enter.

Forms for all competitions and friendly matches are available to download.

Marketing and Publicity 2018

Posters are available to publisize the work of the SBF and advise members of the changes in marketing and publicity. If you would like some for your club, please contact the office.

SBF Tour 2018

The SBF run an annual tour to various regions of Scotland. This year we are visiting the Borders, including Biggar and Jedburgh.

The tour dates are Friday , 14th September - Sunday, 16th September. The costs are Single rooms : £180.00, Twin Rooms £140.00 per person.. We currently have 7 places available to Bowlers. If you would like to be considered, please contact the office for further details.

Competition Winners 2017

Bennie Cup winners 2017 - East Kilbride Bennie Cup winners 2017 - East Kilbride

Congratulations to East Kilbride BC who won the Bennie Cup. Team members were Bill Murray, Andy Nicol, Alex McDonald, Robert Hanney, David Johnstone, Norman McDermott, Colin McDonal and George Harvey.

Congratulations to Kelty BC who won the Ladies Jubilee Rosebowl. Team members were June Fisher, Alison Morrison, Lynda Hunter, Betty Hunter, Marion Strachan, Ladies President Matty Mill, Lorraine Houston, Jackie Cooper and Gillian Redpath. SBF Secretary, John Lassa, President Colin McLachlan and Match Secretary, Jim Blair.

President's Remarks to Fellow Bowlers

To the membership of the Scottish Bowlers’ Fellowship. I have had the honour of being your President for this year, and it has been a wonderful year. The weather has been kind to us all, and the games were all enjoyable.

Firstly, my thanks to Immediate Past President David Logan snr for his encouragement and to Olive Allardyce our treasurer and John Lassa our secretary for all their advice and friendship.

To all the officebearers thank you for your support again this year. This year we travelled up to St Duthus bc in Tain on our annual tourist games and called in to Auchterarder on our way home a most enjoyable time was had by all.

To all the clubs we have played at thank you for hosting these games, it is really great to meet so many new friends and renew old acquaintances.

To anybody who is interested we are going to Jedburgh in September 2018( contact our secretary John).

Congratulations to the gents of East Kilbride bc on winning the Bennie Cup; to the ladies of Kelty bc on winning the Rosebowl, Well done to both clubs.

To John Lassa, I wish you well for your Presidential year and I hope that the membership will support you. I look forward to seeing you all at the AGM on 24th February 2018.

To give financial assistance towards the maintenance, education and benefit of widows, orphans and dependents of deceased members of the Fellowship who are in necessitous circumstances and/ or to give financial assistance to members of the Fellowship who are in necessitous circumstances through ill-health or other causes beyond their control.
